Scientists from the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences, together with colleagues from the Atlantic University of Florida, have found out what emotions artificial intelligence evokes in humans. The results of interaction with the "virtual partner" are published in the International Journal of Psychophysiology, briefly reported by medicalXpress.
The researchers said that the experiment took place as part of the Human Dynamic Clamp project - the development of a humanoid robot with artificial intelligence. The researchers wanted to find out how the virtual partner affects the emotions of the respondents. To do this, the researchers invited a group of Americans. The respondents communicated exclusively with artificial intelligence, which was programmed to maintain a dialogue with a person according to a special mathematical model. However, the participants in the experiment were told that they spoke with both real people and with a virtual partner.
It turned out that the person with whom he communicates is of fundamental importance for a person. “Our research has shown that people are more emotionally aroused when they believe they are talking to a person,” said Mengsen Chan, Ph. D., the author of the study. "Most likely, in the human mind, intelligence is a coordinated movement of thought inside and outside the brain."
As mentioned above, the research of American scientists suggests the development of the Human Dynamic Clamp. Researchers plan to create a perfect robot that will not differ in any way from a person, to endow the machine with emotions. So far, artificial intelligence is being created using a surrogate. Robots are artificially forced to repeat movements and emotions after a person.
