The Austrian psychologist, psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and neurologist Sigmund Freud, famous mainly for his theory of psychoanalysis, was quite seriously interested in the history of Ancient Egypt - this fact, as modern researchers believe, was reflected in the works of Freud to a much greater extent than expected.
Some experts are sure that Freud's basic ideas were practically unchanged from the teachings of the priests of Ancient Egypt, who, in particular, were engaged in the interpretation of dreams at a very advanced level for their time.
One of the main works of Freud - the book "The Interpretation of Dreams", according to scientists, was clearly written under the great impression of the research of the ancient Egyptians, who, like Freud, considered dreams in a specific way.
“At some stage in his work, Freud became so carried away by the ancient Egyptian writings that he began to borrow whole large chunks of their ideas regarding the interpretation of dreams. The scientist probably copied ancient Egyptian knowledge not only consciously, but also unconsciously, as he lived surrounded by relevant information,”the experts conclude.
