Honesty is a forgotten personality trait that used to be inherent in every business man. Today you’ll find a guide to lying and espionage rather than a guide to the practical path of honesty. But it is not just that this quality is considered a virtue. Being an honest person is tantamount to being a reliable and responsible person. It was these people who became what the rest of society was equal to.
In the digital age, deception has become a leading phenomenon in public relations. Friends, neighbors and colleagues cheat. Film stars, doctors and traffic police officers are deceiving. The girls are cheating on you, and you are cheating on the girls. Deception has become so commonplace that it slowly develops into a natural human trait, but, nevertheless, honesty can still defend its positions - it has many advantages, more than you think.
Become honest, root out lies
Dishonest people, as a rule, do not have specific personal values. They justify all their actions by the desire to get something from other people, and not by the desire to achieve something. If you learn to recognize this pernicious quality in yourself, then you can begin rehabilitation. No need to blame yourself or, even more so, the people who raised you. Many beliefs are passed down from generation to generation on a subconscious level. Set personal boundaries
We need to create a small system of personal boundaries, something like a code of honor, which was adopted by Russian officers in the Empire. This code should contain some set of rules that should not be allowed to be violated by others and, most importantly, by yourself. If you live according to the code of honor, then sooner or later, but you will begin to form a real sense of your own dignity, which seems to have been forgotten by modern men. The presence of honor is a prerequisite for the development of a personality in the style of a "man who is responsible for his words."

Be faithful to your positions, which, however, does not mean stupid conservatism of views, when everything new is perceived by a person with hostility.

Before embarking on the path of honesty, you need to answer the question: "Why do I need it?" If the answer is found quickly, then it is your goal, which should muffle all the impulsive desires that are so full of weekdays. To act honestly, ideally, is necessary because it is “right” to do so, but on the other hand, if you have a reason to be honest, then it will be easier for you.

Taking criticism from others is not easy, and not everyone can do it. In any criticism, two opinions clash, which are hostile to each other. If you've noticed, no one emerges victorious from the controversies of the postmodern age. This is because no one knows how to perceive criticism the way they perceived it before. We are disrespectful to the interlocutor, we consider ourselves geniuses in all aspects of life, and therefore we often lie in order to quickly solve the problem. But you can take a different path - to establish deep feedback with the interlocutor in order to find common ground. When there is something in common between you and your critic, it is always easier to be honest and not give up your original intention.
Take care of every "moment of truth"
Finding the truth in the modern world is almost as real as finding a living mammoth. But if it happens that you see the most real truth in front of you, grab it by the balls, shoot it with your camera and let it be fixed in your memory. Moments of truth are the very frames that Death will show you when your time comes. It is necessary to retain as many of these frames as possible so that you can rely on something important, real and living, and not on fiction. The more “moments of truth” you keep, the easier it will be to remain an honest person.
