During the restoration of an old pharmacy in Barnaul, builders unexpectedly discovered an intriguing find under it - a secret basement, which was equipped with massive gratings
It was "decorated" with brick arches and metal banners, which were made by hand. Presumably, this was a cache in which medicines were kept.
And the very process of discovering this basement is completely original. In a dream, the watchman saw the basement, and when his duty at the pharmacy came, he went down the stairs, which unexpectedly swayed under his feet. He immediately recalled the dream and called the builders to dismantle the wall in this place, where the cache was discovered.
“I dreamed that I was going down to the found basement along a wooden staircase and I saw a door from under which light was coming,” Andrei shared. - And the next day I was going down the stairs and stumbled on one of the steps. I considered this a sign, told everything to the builders and asked them to check: could there be another secret room behind the stairs.
Imagine the surprise of the builders when they started hammering in the wall and really discovered another basement. Now the restorers of the building continue to dig to find out where the entrance to the basement is.
- Most likely, these basements were equipped back in 1752, when a pharmacy was being built, - the builders suggest. - And already on their basis in 1793, after destruction due to severe floods, a second building was built by the architect Molchanov.
