Is it possible to revive after death? It would seem that this happens only in myths. Meanwhile, similar stories often happen to our contemporaries. So, recently, 28-year-old David Jar returned to life 70 minutes after his heart stopped (thanks to intensive resuscitation). At the same time, the young man's brain was not damaged.
David suffered a heart attack this March at his home in Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland. The man's 22-year-old common-law wife and mother of two daughters, Lynette Crozier, recalls: “David slept next to me, I woke up from the fact that he began to choke and did not answer. I started shaking him. When he stopped breathing and his heart was no longer beating, I called an ambulance. While waiting for the doctors, I started doing CPR and chest compressions. It lasted about three minutes, but it felt like an eternity. Our little girl screamed and called her dad. I thought we lost him."
The ambulance took David to the hospital. All this time, resuscitation measures continued. Only 1 hour and 10 minutes after Lynette diagnosed cardiac arrest, it began to beat again thanks to the defibrillator. For five days, Jar was on mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit, and then for another 11 days he was in the hospital under the supervision of doctors. Doctors told the family that the man's brain was likely not to fully return to normal. “They said that even if David came to his senses, he would have brain damage, but they were at a loss to say how widespread it would be because his heart had not been working for a very long time,” says Lynette. However, the resurrected Jar has no brain problems. True, he does not remember what happened to him.
“I just went to bed on Saturday night, and after that I woke up in the hospital,” the young man recalls. - I didn't believe it when the doctors told me that I had a heart attack. When the doctors examined me, they did not find any serious health problems that could have caused the attack. Now David is at home and is undergoing treatment. According to the head of the cardiology department of the local hospital, Dr. Purcell, Lynette, who competently performed resuscitation for her partner, saved his life.
“In this case, it helped that the man was young and healthy,” added the cardiologist. - Good survival in such situations is observed even in children. Many young children can experience this."
Another case of resurrection occurred in Zimbabwe. A prostitute, having sex with a client in a room at the Mainor Hotel, located in Bulawayo, suddenly fainted. Until morning, she showed no signs of life, her body became cold to the touch … Then the man called the police. The police decided to put the body of the priestess of love in a metal coffin to take it out of the hotel. However, as soon as the "deceased" was in the coffin, she suddenly "came to life", uttering a loud cry: "You will kill me, you will kill me!" Onlookers, who had gathered to see how they would carry out the coffin, scattered in fear … The police had to leave the hotel with an empty coffin. The woman's partner quietly left earlier.
The alleged deceased herself was very indignant that no one even bothered to check whether she was really dead … Perhaps, in Zimbabwe, such "resurrection" is already becoming a tradition. So, 34-year-old resident of the city of Gweru Brighton Dama recently rose from the coffin right during the funeral ceremony. The man was declared dead, and many people gathered for the funeral - relatives, friends, colleagues … They all stood in line to say goodbye to the "deceased". Suddenly he, lying in the coffin, moved his leg. “I was the first to see it,” recalls Lot Gaka, for whom Lady worked. - At first I decided that it seemed to me, but then, when the others began to exchange glances, I was convinced of the reality of what was happening.
The twitching of the lower limb was not limited to. Soon the "deceased" opened his eyes and sat in a coffin. Fortunately, those around him did not panic, but urgently took the man to the hospital. There, doctors connected him to life support devices and conducted a full examination. Two days later, Brighton Dame was discharged from the hospital safe and sound. Which once again confirms how fragile and conditional the line between life and death is.
