The ancient Greenlanders had brown eyes, a stocky build, and their relatives, as scientists unexpectedly established, lived across the sea, in distant Siberia.
World science still had very scant information about the mysterious culture of Sakkak. In the area of the Greenland village of Sakkak, several cultural artifacts have been found that belonged to a long-extinct prehistoric culture. Based on the analysis of these objects, scientists have established that starting from about the second half of the 3rd millennium BC. on the island of Greenland, a peculiar culture developed, which disappeared without a trace at the end of the 8th century A. D.
The study of the Sakkak culture brought scientists an unexpected discovery: five and a half thousand years ago, “there was an independent migration of peoples in the direction of Greenland. Why the settlers chose such a cold area as their new homeland is completely unclear. Perhaps the warmer and more favorable regions have already been occupied by other tribes, or the newly arrived northerners from generation to generation have become accustomed to the cold climate and have not seen anything else.
