In the 1920s and 1930s, more than 20 people involved in the autopsy of Tutankhamun's tomb in Luxor died under very strange circumstances. This gave rise to the famous legend of the "curse of the pharaohs." However, more recently, historian Mark Beynon put forward a sensational hypothesis - all the victims were killed by the leader of the Satanists, Aleister Crowley!
In November 1922, an archaeological expedition headed by the British, George Carnarvon and Howard Carter, went to Egypt. They discovered and explored the tomb of the great Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
Lord Carnarvon died on April 6, 1923 from blood poisoning: he was stung on the cheek by a mosquito. Within only a few months after his death, several more people died for various reasons, who visited the tomb of Tutankhamun or were related to its contents.
So, Aubrey Herbert, the half-brother of Lord Carnarvon, soon after a trip to Luxor, died of blood poisoning after a visit to the dentist … The former curator of Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities in the British Museum, Sir Ernest Badge, was found dead in his own bedroom … Egyptian prince Ali Farmi Bey, after after he was photographed in the tomb of Tutankhamun, his own wife, Marie-Marguerite, shot at the Savoy Hotel …
In 1929, Carter's personal secretary, Richard Bethel, was found strangled to death in an elite club in Mayfair.
Edgar Steele, an employee of the British Museum, engaged in archaeological finds from the tomb of Tutankhamun, died in 1930 after having undergone a simple stomach operation.
Archaeologist Archibald Reid, who was going to examine one of the mummies using an X-ray, and Egyptologist Arthur Weigal died of an "unknown fever". A total of 21 people associated with Carter's expedition died prematurely.

articles and books of the famous Satanist Aleister Crowley at the beginning of the last century. It follows from them that Crowley worshiped the ancient Egyptian god Horus and considered opening tombs a sacrilege.
Aleister Crowley (real name Edward Alexander Crowley) was born on October 12, 1875 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. In 1895 he entered the University of Cambridge, where he first studied philosophy, psychology and economics, and then began to study English literature.
In parallel, the young man became interested in the occult and mysticism, began to study works on magic and alchemy. Later, he began to practice ancient Egyptian rituals, in particular, he allegedly came into contact with the spirit of the god Horus, who declared him his prophet.
Crowley first developed a new religious teaching known as thelema ("will"). In 1920, he traveled to Sicily, where he founded Thelem Abbey, a genus of commune whose members indulged in promiscuous sex, used drugs and practiced black magic.
After one of the members of the commune, 23-year-old Raoul Lavdey, died of poisoning during a ritual of cat blood, the police expelled Crowley and his followers from Sicily. Crowley spent the rest of his life traveling, promoting his magical teachings everywhere, wrote many books on this topic …
In his book The Curse of London: Murders, Black Magic and Tutankhamun in the West End of the 1920s, Mark Beynon writes that Aleister Crowley imitated the elusive Jack the Ripper, only he took revenge on London prostitutes, and Crowley - on archaeologists who opened ancient Egyptian tombs. According to Beynon, the death of Raoul Loveday was not accidental: he was poisoned at the very hour when Carter opened the pyramid of Tutankhamun (this was widely reported in the press in advance). Apparently, Loveday was sacrificed.
According to Beynon, Marie-Marguerite, wife of Ali Farmie-Bey, was formerly Crowley's mistress and could commit the murder of her husband on his orders. To her, he attributes the death of Aubrey Herbert. In total, as the historian believes, Crowley and his henchmen killed at least seven people in different ways.
Although Crowley never explicitly mentions his involvement in the deaths of archaeologists and other people associated with treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun, Beynon finds hints of this. In particular, Crowley writes in his diary that the locations of the five murders once committed by Jack the Ripper form a pentagram. According to Beynon, the places where the victims of the "curse of the pharaohs" found their death also form a pentagram.
Beynon's version is also supported by the fact that not all "grave robbers" were punished by the "curse". So, Howard Carter himself lived until 1939, and his death was quite natural. The curse did not affect several of Carter's closest aides. And Dr. Derry, who examined Tutankhamun's mummy, lived to be 88 years old.
