On a high mountain with the difficult to pronounce name Chaittiyo, which is located in Myanmar, there is a unique pagoda. It looks rather unusual because it stands on a huge boulder, at the very edge of a steep cliff. One gets the impression that a light breeze is about to blow and the boulder will fall down along with the sacred structure. However, in spite of everything, for many years it has stubbornly held its place.
In fact, the fragility of the structure is just an illusion. During excursions, tourists are allowed to make sure of this on their own experience: even great efforts are not enough to move this "golden stone" from its place. The boulder begins to sway and it is a very frightening sight. However, the lump is not going to fall. Only legend can explain the incredible stability of the stone. It is said that the Buddha himself once gave a hermit a pair of his hair. A little later, this wanderer built a pagoda on a rickety boulder, and placed his valuable gift under the boulder, which firmly fixed it on the rock.
The stone is 5 meters high and covered with gold leaf. Anyone can look at the shrine. True, only men can come close to the Chaittiyo Pagoda. After all, again, according to legend, it is a woman who can bring the stone down. Therefore, the beautiful half of humanity is not allowed to come close to the boulder. You can get to the unique shrine by truck that carries tourists from a city called Kinpun.
