In the German city of Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt, a robot priest appeared, blessing believers and reading the Bible. On Monday, May 29, the Daily Mirror reports.
Designed by the Evangelical Church of Hesse and Nassau, most of the machine's metal chest is occupied by a touchscreen. The robot greets the user and prompts them to select a voice and type of blessing. After that, he raises his hands to heaven and says: "God bless and protect you." Then a saying from the Bible sounds, which can be printed if desired.
Church spokesman Sebastian von Gehren admitted that the electromechanical priest caused a mixed reaction. Half of the parishioners liked it, others cannot imagine the blessing from the machine. Guerin claims that the robot was especially interested in people far from religion. Now many come to the car every morning and evening.
The city of Wittenberg, where the robot is installed, played an important role in the history of Christianity. Here is the Castle Church, to the doors of which the theologian Martin Luther nailed the theses against the sale of indulgences, which marked the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
Earlier it was reported that the first robot policeman was officially included in the Dubai Police.
