“I believe that breakthrough advances in medicine and the development of biomechanics will enable a person to reach the age of 500,” said Maris.
He said that Google is now investing in start-up companies that are engaged in research in the field of genetics and diagnosis of diseases, including cancer.
“We have tools in the field of life research that allow us to implement the most ambitious plans,” he stressed.
Bill Maris studied neuroscience at Duke University in America. In recent years, he has been working on projects to extend the life of a person. The current approach of Google is that a modern person is able to reach the age of 120 due to the correct lifestyle. However, then he will need help from a new generation of machines in order to extend his life almost indefinitely.
At the international congress "Global Future 2045" held last year in New York, the famous American futurist and inventor Raymond Kurzweil said that in 30 years mankind will learn to provide itself with practically unlimited life by creating new biological machines compatible with the human body.
