The new discovery of archaeologists may force a complete revision of the traditional ideas of scientists about the most ancient civilizations of the South American region.
An international group of archaeologists, including scientists from Russia, made a discovery that could seriously change our understanding of the ancient history of South America. During excavations in Ecuador, at a depth of about 1 meter, researchers discovered the remains of ancient ceramics. It would be quite a common find, if not for one nuance. The design and shape of the pottery were not similar to any other type of similar pottery before. Radiocarbon analysis showed that the wreckage dates from 4640-4460 BC. This coincides with the period when the Waldivian culture dominated in South America. However, this ceramic is completely different.
Where did they come from, and where did they go?
The strangest thing is that vessels with similar ornaments have not been found anywhere on the continent before. A fragment of the drawing and the quality of clay firing shows that the civilization that made these dishes was quite well developed for its time.
Why haven't scientists found a single trace of this culture before? At the moment, archaeologists expect to expand the study area to cover a large layer of earth for excavation. Perhaps new discoveries will be able to shed light on what kind of people they were, and why we have not yet met any traces of their stay on the continent.

Scientists note that regardless of the location of certain ancient tribes, the vector of development of all civilizations was approximately the same.
