On October 8, 2007, a young woman named Pushpalata was walking through a forest near the Indian village of Patrame when she unexpectedly encountered a strange sight.

A small tree was apparently trying to lift the cow off the ground. The branches of the tree wrapped around the hapless animal's hind limbs and tail and lifted them, while the cow's front legs were still on the ground. The cow tried desperately to escape, but the tree pulled her back.

The girl ran away for help and soon returned with a local farmer who tried to save the animal by cutting off the branches. But in the end he just had to cut down the tree. Only then did it release the cow.

Local farmers have long complained about cows returning home without tails and with wounds on their backs, but they never imagined that the reason for this was the mara - "tiger tree" drinking. One of the villagers recalled that thirty years earlier there was another such tree in the area.

The tiger tree is not some kind of tree, but an unfortunate plant possessed by an evil spirit. The press really liked this story, which became known as the "Cow-Eating Tree".

And here is another unusual story. For years, people have discussed the ghost of Durand Eastman Park in Rochester, NY. Known as the "White Lady," she looks like a 19th-century woman wandering through the park in search of her daughter's body, either killed by her boyfriend or by a group of criminals.

The white lady, according to various versions, either committed suicide or died in melancholy and loneliness while looking for her lost child. A white lady was seen emerging from the waters of the park. Some eyewitnesses claim that two ghost dogs were with her.

One of the local residents said that once, when he and a friend were in a car near the park late at night, he saw the face of an unknown woman in white in his rearview mirror. She peeked out from behind the tree, but did nothing more. But over time, the story became more and more strange.

In 2017, a storm pulled out a large piece of a tree in the park, and it turned out that the exposed wood has outlines similar to those taken by the White Lady, that is, the appearance of a woman with a face like a skull, wearing a dress and raising her hands to head. It seems to some that she is carrying a child in her arms, perhaps as a representation of her deceased daughter.

The figure was not carved, but purely the result of a natural phenomenon. The unusual pale color of the wood itself evokes unpleasant sensations, coming into full agreement with the local legend. Despite the fact that the tree was seriously damaged, it did not fall and remains in its place, representing another reminder of the ghostly White Lady.
