Astronomers from the United States of America and the European Union continue to explore the stellar galaxy TRAPPIST-1. According to their assumptions, all three planets of this system, orbiting the white dwarf, are inhabited. It is not yet known whether they already have life, but researchers expect to find out very soon. They provide information about short terms. In particular, they promise to introduce people to extraterrestrial life in five years.
The co-author of the study, Julien de Wit from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in a conversation with a journalist, suggested that even if life is not discovered in five years, then in 10 years it will definitely happen. Work is now underway to detect traces of water on planets. So far, it has only been found in the atmospheres of two of them. But this already indicates that there may be something living here.
The TRAPPIST-1 star system was recently discovered. Scientists managed to find out that it resembles ours in its characteristics. Its planets may be habitable.
