Many mysterious phenomena that modern scientists cannot explain have come to us from ancient times. But most of all, the written sources of the past dwell on the mysterious flying machines that our ancestors observed more than once.
Thus, Livy, in his famous book "History of Rome", mentioned the "sparkling shield", which thousands of people saw flying in the sky over Arpia. Pliny in his "Natural History" also mentioned "shields of fire" that crossed the firmament in 85 BC. e. Aristotle called these shields flying discs.
During the reign of Alexander the Great, unknown aircraft also appeared in the sky. One chronicler mentioned a certain flying object that appeared high in the sky during Alexander's crossing over the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
But, unlike modern people, the ancient Egyptians were not at all surprised by these unusual phenomena, since they fit into their religious system. For example, a celestial object that appeared above Alexander's head meant, in their opinion, the blessing of the gods, who from above watched the success of the great king.
Similar beliefs existed among the ancient Greeks. They were convinced that Helios, the sun god, was riding in a chariot of fire. Therefore, for his rest, the Greeks built a huge platform of stone blocks in Heliopolis.
These beliefs have been preserved among some peoples in our time. For example, the Eskimos still believe that their tribes were transported north by gods with iron wings - huge metal birds.
Scholars have compared the records of the Babylonians, Egyptians, Sumerians and Assyrians. In these records one and the same images were encountered: fiery ships descending from heaven to earth, iron birds, whose wings thundered like a thunderstorm, sparkling shields, pillars of fire.
Consequently, with the development of writing, ancient people began to record the strange phenomena they witnessed. Therefore, it is no coincidence that the Mesopotamian name of Egypt "Magan" is translated as "land of shields", and many ancient texts described Sinai, an area belonging to Egypt, as a place "from where the greats rise to heaven."

Scientists-Egyptologists, studying the ornaments of Ancient Egypt, which adorned palaces and temples, drew attention to the very frequent image of a disk with two large wings. On the walls of palaces in Eddu, images of the winged sun are also preserved.
In ancient Egypt, there were many symbolic signs, and one of the most common is a sign in the form of a small circle with dashes on one side. In our time, the space satellite is schematically depicted.
Images of a circle (disk) with three rays
1- from rock paintings, Dagestan;
2- signs on the stone of the wall of the Derbent fortress;
3- Azerbaijan, Middle Ages;
4- Sweden, bronze;
5,6- Ancient Egypt;
7- Central Europe, Neolithic;
8- Italy, Neolithic;
9- Northern Black Sea region, 3 thousand to h. e. (ancient pit culture);
10- France, Paleolithic.
With numerous attempts to unravel the meaning of this symbol, scientists have expressed different opinions. Some were inclined to believe that the sign was associated with religious beliefs, others suggested that the ancient Egyptians denoted real UFOs with such a symbol.
The oldest record found on papyrus, which is dedicated to UFOs, is kept in Rome, in the Vatican Museum, in the department of Ancient Egypt. It translates approximately like this: “… and a circle of fire appeared in the sky. He had no head, but a terrible stench escaped from his mouth. His body was huge … He was voiceless."
This entry, made by a chronicler at the court of Thutmose III, the pharaoh of the XVIII dynasty, who ruled from 1504 to 1450 BC. e. According to the testimony of an unknown author, soon the whole sky was covered with fiery discs, and if not for the courage and courage of the pharaoh, then the large army would have fled. He managed to calm his panic-stricken warriors. According to the chronicler, people stayed where they were, watching with horror the circles of fire that flew south in an instant.
If you turn to the ancient Egyptian written religious sources, you can often find descriptions of "winged shields" and "fiery discs", which, / according to the Egyptians, belonged to the gods Ra and Horus, helping them in their daily affairs and during the great battles.
Another papyrus describes the scene of a visit by the god Ra to one of the pharaohs on the day of a great holiday. According to the text of the legend, the god appeared at the ruler's palace in a "sparkling celestial chariot" and after some time he left for the sky on it, disappearing beyond the horizon.
The Egyptians called the sun god "the Great One who sits on a throne of iron and fire." According to the legend about his birth, Ra emerged from a huge shiny egg left on the mountain by the sparkling fire bird "Great Gogotun".
In the famous Egyptian "Texts of the Pyramids" (III millennium BC), iron plates in the sky, iron thrones, iron sceptres, sparkling with fire, and even iron clothing intended for the pharaoh are very often mentioned. And this seems very strange to modern scientists, since iron was practically not mined in Ancient Egypt and was considered a very rare metal.
In the same document, we find other no less interesting lines: "The king is a flame that flies ahead of the wind to the outskirts of the sky and to the outskirts of the earth … The king travels through the air and crosses the earth … He knows the path along which one can climb into the sky."
An interesting find was made by Egyptologists in the tomb of Abydos (V millennium BC). On the wall, among the many hieroglyphs, there was very often a sign resembling a modern helicopter. This symbol was found by accident. A large piece fell off the tiles, covered with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, which revealed an older layer of masonry, on which images of "helicopters" were carved.

At the same time, in another burial, researchers discovered a papyrus (15th century BC), on which the following inscription was made: “A circle of fire swept across the sky, silent and huge. In a few days there were more people like him, there were countless numbers of them, and with their radiance they eclipsed the light of the sun.
In 400, the Egyptian Panodorus made the following entry: “From the time of the creation of Adam and up to Enoch, people did not know the number of days either in a month or in a year. But once from heaven on iron discs Egregory descended ("angels", "caretakers"), who explained to people that the orbits of two luminaries, marked with twelve signs, are divided into 360 parts.
What is this, if not proof that the ancient Egyptians were repeatedly visited by representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations. Who knows, maybe the ancients owed much of the knowledge that amazes modern scientists to guests from outer space?
