Stories of travel to other dimensions are not uncommon. However, at all times there have been people who are able to go back and forth of their own accord. Of course, they were helped in this by a magical gift. So, in the jungles of New Guinea there is a tribe of oolugs, whose representatives claim that they live in two worlds simultaneously: in our world and in the Land of Shadows.
Falling into a trance, the oolugs find themselves in the Land of Shadows, where savages similar to the descriptions of Neanderthals live, as well as winged monkeys and giant ants. In the Land of Shadows, people can perform various miracles - for example, jump several tens of meters in height.
According to scientists, the oolugs do, in fact, fall into a daze from time to time, wounds appear on their bodies from nowhere, and knives appear in their hands, the handles of which are decorated with purple crystals that radiate heat.
The study of one of these crystals has shown that it is of extraterrestrial origin … And what does the trance have to do with it? Journalist Vladimir Smelyansky tells about an old woman living in the Tver outback, who is considered a witch by local residents. One autumn after the war, a young woman named Anna went to collect cranberries in a swamp. I didn't come home by evening.
The neighbors rushed to look for her, but the search was in vain. Everyone decided that their fellow villager had died. But ten days later Anna returned. She did not at all resemble a person wandering through the swamps - her clothes remained intact and clean, no signs of illness or exhaustion … Only now Anna's eyes turned from blue for some reason to green.
In response to persistent questioning, Anna told this. After filling a basket with cranberries, she decided to take a break on a small island in the middle of a swamp. I sat down on a round stone. Although it got colder by the evening, it turned out to be warm, almost hot. Having warmed up, the woman dozed off, and when she woke up, she found that she was in some other place - huge flowers that she had not seen before were growing around, butterflies and dragonflies were flying, for some reason the size of doves.
There were also people there, but not like ordinary people - with greenish translucent bodies. They spoke in an incomprehensible language and invited Anna to the round house, where they showed her a large ball. Colorful pictures flickered inside it. She saw strange cities, green people flying across the sky with their wings. Then the guest was taken to a small dark room, and suddenly she saw herself on the outskirts of the village … Since then, her fellow villagers are sure that she knows with evil spirits.
A father and son from Leningrad, who became victims of a poltergeist in their apartment, decided to go south in the summer. In the compartment of the train, the poltergeist continued to terrorize them: notes with threats fell from above, and a brick fell on the man's head in the vestibule … Some of the passengers told these people that there would soon be a station where some old man lives who can help in such a disaster …

The man and the boy obeyed and got off at the indicated place, then took a long bus ride and walk to the desired village. The old man didn't even ask about anything. He explained that all the misfortunes are the work of neighbors who want to get them out of the house and for this they turned to their village sorceress relative. In doing so, he described the appearance of the neighbors. Everything coincided … The grandfather said that now the house would be calm, and the witch would be punished. And so it happened. Father and son wrote down the old man's address, just in case, and kept it.
But then the piece of paper with the address disappeared somewhere. They began to look for the name of the village on the map, but it turned out that none of them could remember it exactly. Either Sheburovo, or Schebutovo … Nothing of the kind was listed in the atlas. A year later, out of curiosity, my father decided to go to those lands with a friend by car. But in the place of the village there were only a forest and a field …
We began to question the local residents and found out that, in fact, a village had once stood here, but only a very long time ago, even before the war. Nothing was known about the mysterious old witch either … Apparently, one of the two parallel worlds (this may be, for example, the past or the future) is still a place of "main registration" for these characters, and they go to the neighboring one as if "on a business trip".
How this space-time transition occurs remains a mystery. It is possible that both dimensions constitute a single reality, but most of us are accustomed to existing in one limited plane.
