Previously, contact with the dead took place in dreams, through mystical visions, or auditory hallucinations. These contacts could be both spontaneous and artificial, for example, by entering a trance. With the advent of the era of technological progress, contacts with the other world began to occur in other ways, at first it was the telegraph and phonograph, later radio and television. No less curious phenomenon is communication via a telephone.

Calls from the other world seem strange and have no rational explanation. These contacts occur more often between loved ones who had emotional relationships during their lifetime: spouses, parents and children, lovers, and so on.

In some cases, such contacts may have a clear purpose, for example, the desire of the deceased to communicate something important to the survivors, or to say goodbye. There have been cases when the dead contacted with the goal of reporting danger. Often, the deceased, in order not to disturb loved ones, calls mutual acquaintances who do not know about his death. In this case, the conversation can be long. And yet, in most cases, such communication is limited to a few short phrases, like: “Hello, is that you? How are you? I'm alright! And the most interesting thing is that it happens in the very first hours after death.

Recording on an answering machine. Eyewitness Marina

This story happened to me in the early 90s, when telephones with answering machine functions began to appear. This device was simply an irreplaceable miracle - you will not miss a single call, if there is no one at home, the caller could leave a message that was recorded on a cassette. There was such a device in my house. I was then 22 years old, I was a sociable girl, there were plenty of willing guys to start relationships with me. I used an answering machine to filter calls. At that time, I had one great love - Valentine. And with him I gladly shared his passion for motorcycles. Our favorite pastime was traveling with the wind through the city at night.

That April evening we were going to ride again, but something didn't want to let me out of the house. At first, I could not find the keys to the apartment, when I found them, in a hurry I caught my only tights on the burr on the door. As a result, I got nervous and decided to stay at home, because I just didn't have another pair of tights. Those who remember those times will understand me perfectly!

Valentine did not call either in the evening or in the morning, I had to look for him through mutual acquaintances. Imagine the horror that gripped me when I found out that my boyfriend had crashed on a motorcycle and was in intensive care for almost a day. The doctors said that he had almost no chance of life. The cause of the accident was the failure of the brakes on the motorcycle, the guy could not brake and flew off the road at high speed. He was not found immediately, which nullified his chances of life. Alas, the doctors' predictions came true. A day later, Valentine died without regaining consciousness.

After the funeral, I returned home. My parents were at work, I noticed a flashing light on the phone, which meant that someone called and left a message. I started listening to the recordings. These were calls from friends and acquaintances who expressed their condolences to me. The next recording shocked me: there were creaks and rustling, and then, as if from somewhere far away, came the familiar voice of Valentine. Hello! Do not Cry. I'm alright. You did the right thing to stay at home then,”said Valentine's voice.

It seemed to me that I was going crazy. I listened to the recording several times, it was definitely Valentine, and this message was recorded after all the condolences!
