“As I wrote earlier, when we lived in Newfoundland, Canada, there was a large wild forest next to our house across the river. He appeared to be a completely untouched person and extended as far as the eyes could see.

Several dirt roads went through the forest, along which the locals went to pick berries or to hunt moose. And there was in the distance, about 15 km from our house, another place covered with gravel, to which people rarely went and no one knew why gravel was poured here.

I was a teenager who had no friends and I spent my free time mostly walking in this forest. I managed to get to know him well enough, knew where there were especially strange places, where the paths passed, and I would immediately see if something changed there. I walked in the forest every day.

One day I decided to go further than I usually walked and walk to a gravel embankment. It was a great sunny summer day with at least 6 hours of walking ahead of me, but I was not worried, as I was ready for this. I had a supply of water and food with me, I had a sun hat on my head, and I took sunscreen with me and was dressed just right for the hike.

During this journey, I did not meet a single person and, leaving in the morning, by 4 o'clock in the afternoon, I finally reached a gravel embankment. This place was about 90 meters wide and there was an old house in the middle of it. A small two-story house with an almost flat, pale yellow roof. Nobody builds such houses here now, but they seemed to have built them in the 70s, but not in such a remote thicket, and the presence of a house here surprised and alarmed me. There are no roads nearby, except for the goat path.

When I walked around the house, I saw that its front door was wide open and after that I had the idea to go inside, which drove away all fears. The kitchen immediately began behind the front door and everything looked in the style of the 50s. Everything was in soft pastel colors - a small table with yellow flowers, an old wood-burning stove, an old kettle, but overall everything inside looked solid and clean enough. There was only a plate in the sink made of dirt, and the floor was very good.

The kettle attracted me with something and I touched it with my hand and realized that it was hot! As if it was boiled about 5 minutes ago. But I didn't run away. Behind the kitchen was a living room, in the middle of which was a circular staircase leading to the second floor. There was a large table in the living room, an old style sofa, and in the corner was a TV with a convex lens.

The staircase was unexpectedly long, I counted 30 steps, but finally climbed up. Only then did I realize that there was a dead silence around me, which was broken only by the creak of the floorboards under my steps. However, the house was definitely residential; someone lived in it.

There were two doors to my right and left, the left doors were closed, so I went to the right. Opening the first room, I found dozens of old Victorian porcelain dolls inside that looked creepy. It was probably the girl's room and although the girl was not inside, the room was also very clean and tidy.

A second later I heard a subtle creak from those locked doors and I have never been so scared in my life. I saw that one door was slightly opened and there was as if someone was standing behind it.

As quickly as I could, I jumped out of the room, ran down the stairs, and when I ran out, I turned around and saw that someone was definitely going down the stairs behind me. I rushed to run into the forest and then immediately went towards my house. I don't remember if someone was following me, but I had a keen feeling to get out of there as soon as possible.

Only after an hour of the way back I began to come to my senses and the adrenaline began to leave my blood. However, the rest of the way home, I was nervous and restless. When I arrived, my parents were not yet at home and I immediately went to bed and fell asleep.

The rest of that summer passed without incident, but I regularly convinced myself that I should go back there and apologize to these people for breaking into their home.

But when I finally pulled myself together and I came to that gravel heap, there … there was no home. And as if it had never existed at all, since there was no depression in the ground, no pieces of boards, nothing. Only old beer cans were scattered here and there. After walking there a little, in fear I decided to leave here.

I was confused and didn't know what to think. Later in school, I told some of my classmates about the old house in the woods, but they said that I just imagined it all because of my fatigue from the hike. But I knew it was real.

A classmate of mine named Randy got interested and said he wanted to go to this place next weekend. He invited me to go with him, but I refused.

On Monday, Randy said with surprise that he was there and actually saw a house with a yellow roof. He described it and I realized that he really saw the same thing as me. Randy also said that even for a million dollars he would not agree to go inside this creepy house, but when he left, he saw the face of a little girl in the second floor window. And this little girl shook her head several times, as if trying to tell him something.

Randy was a nice guy and he was very worried that in this strange house in the middle of nothing in the thicket of the forest there was a small child. He walked to the front door, intending to enter, but barely peered inside when he saw a figure of a man in the middle of the living room. She scared him so much that he immediately left the house and left without looking back.

After that, several more people went to the forest house, but none of them found this house. I ended up being called a nervous idiot and even Randy stopped talking about what he saw there and denied everything. But I know what he saw, I saw fear in his eyes as he spoke about it. And I cannot judge him for that.

While we were living in Newfoundland, I went to that place several times, all trying to see this house again, but still I never found it again. This remained a mystery, for which I could not find an explanation. Then I saw other frightening things in these places, but that visit to the house was the most hostile and creepy."
