Rumor has it that one of the most famous pirates in history, Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, hid untold treasures on the American island of Topsail, located off the east coast of the United States and belonging to North Carolina. However, another, no less entertaining legend is connected with this island - the legend of the ghost ship.

At the beginning of the 18th century, Blackbeard launched his successful fishery at the entrance to Rich Bay off the coast of Topsail Island. His strategy was to wait for civilian ships to appear on the horizon, and then set off in pursuit for the purpose of plunder. And, despite the fact that the bloodthirsty pirate has long gone to the forefathers, eyewitnesses claim that he and his ship never left the waters that brought him fame and wealth.

Sailors say that if you sail to the island with the radar on, then at the entrance to Rich Bay, an image of a ship lurking in the bay appears on the radar screen, but in reality it is not there. In this case, the image on the radar does not disappear, but moves, following the ship in the same way as the ship of Blackbeard did three centuries ago.
