Recently, an unusual vacancy appeared on the Internet: a specialist in anomalous phenomena is required in Gomel.
A candidate for this position must work with witnesses of various anomalous phenomena, participate in field trips and expeditions, engage in research activities, prepare reports and materials. One of the main points is work on a gratuitous basis.
As it turned out, the so-called Belarusian Cryptological Committee, a kind of community of enthusiasts, is looking for volunteers. They have their own website, which is periodically updated with new investigations and news.
“There were reviews from Gomel, but it’s still difficult to say how effective they are,” the chairman of the committee Ruslan Linnik told the reporter. - We wanted to find not so much professionals in this field as people from whom such professionals could be molded. In general, our organization consists of literally three people, and I would like to work hand in hand with the same fans of their work from other regions. It is too early to talk about the results, and I have not had time to personally meet everyone.
The committee defines several goals of its activities, including directly the study of anomalous phenomena, the development of scientific, technological and socio-political concepts, and so on. For example, an expedition to the Rossony district of the Vitebsk region is planned from August 8 to 9, where strange crop circles were discovered 15 years ago.
“If earlier our task was only to study anomalous phenomena, today the nature of some phenomena is clear,” Ruslan continued. - And their further study, by and large, is impossible. This requires serious resources. There are theories and hypotheses that explain certain phenomena, but experimental research is needed to confirm or refute them, perhaps travel to other countries to collect various information.
For example, the chairman of the cryptological committee explained the origin of poltergeists as follows: “This is a manifestation of the soul of a deceased person, something like reincarnation. At some time, I began to notice that many people are like animals: not only visually, but also in habits. Someone looks like a fox and behaves, accordingly, like a fox. Perhaps in this way a person develops from lower to higher forms."

- Poltergeist is a rare phenomenon and manifests itself in a certain impact on the environment: for example, spontaneous combustion, disappearance of objects. We were in an apartment rented by two girls. They said that in the morning a neighbor called them and asked if he had found their bank card in the opening of his front door. We could not fully investigate that case, because one girl turned out to be rather secretive, and it is possible that in this way she simply wanted to push her neighbor to move to a new apartment.
Another strange incident occurred recently in Russia: “A woman discovered a note, which, as was later proved, was written in the handwriting of a late neighbor. That is, the deceased man began to manifest itself as a poltergeist. The reason why this happens is difficult to name unequivocally: a person could be a drunkard, he could commit suicide, or he was not properly reposed."
Fortunetellers, magicians, aliens
Ruslan Linnik complains that in Belarus they do not provide professional assistance to people who have witnessed anomalous phenomena: “As a result, they have to contact either the police or the church. After the priest sprinkles the apartment with holy water, the poltergeist dies down for a while, but may soon appear again. We assume that water itself is somehow destructive to poltergeists."
The editorial office is periodically contacted by people who claim that they saw a UFO. Can you trust them?
- There is little evidence on this topic: I do not consider photographs as such, because it is impossible to determine something specific from a photograph. The main information that we have to work with is the testimony of witnesses. We are trying to study only those cases that can then be applied somewhere.
First, we try to determine which category of observation this or that case belongs to. The first is when the object is visible at a distant distance. It can be easily confused with a star, atmospheric phenomena, in general, anything. Many ufologists delve into this, and we try not to meddle, because studying such things at an amateur level is an idea doomed to failure.
According to Ruslan, the second category includes the impact on technology or a person, and the third - cases of direct observation of creatures:
“Once I saw an unidentified flying object almost 50 meters from the ground. Something flew over the treetops, and this is not a hallucination. I was not the only one who noticed this technogenic device with flashing lights. As far as I remember, the apparatus was rectangular in shape, and in terms of aerodynamic properties it was not even close to an airplane."
How to relate to fortune-tellers and psychics who offer their services on the Internet? - I ask Ruslan Linnik
- I think it is not worth turning to such "specialists" for help, although I am sure that there are people with certain supernormal abilities. It is possible that such people are also in the well-known program "The Battle of Psychics", which I studied closely and deeply. The surest way to get rid of problems is to work on yourself, your life and listen to any advice from your loved ones, but you should not listen to the advice of shameless people. Someone with a certain gift is unlikely to conduct a paid reception.
Judging by the advertisements on the Internet, in fact, a lot of fortune-tellers, clairvoyants and psychics offer their services in Gomel. At the same time, everyone attracts customers as best they can. For example, a hereditary fortune teller and Siberian clairvoyant Vlada writes about herself in the third person:
“People trust her with their health, destiny and personal secrets. Inveterate skeptics will only sarcastically laugh at the blind belief in such magical miracles, but the popularity enjoyed by the clairvoyant convinces of the opposite. The list of clients is no longer limited to the limits of the regional center. People come to her from Minsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg and even Kharkov and Donetsk."
Or the Gomel magician-healer tells about the guarantees of services to his potential clients: “You will not find a stronger and more experienced magician, only you will lose time. Unlike charlatan magicians, I always demonstrate my personal strength and magical abilities. Due to the large number of crooks, swindlers, scammers and charlatans who take money and do nothing, all contractual obligations for the provision of services at the request of the client can be notarized."
To believe these people or not is the exclusive right of every person. But at the same time, it cannot be ruled out that among us there are people with supernormal abilities, just like abnormal phenomena can be found not only in science fiction films …
