“Before my death, I lost my sight, I had a severe cerebral hemorrhage. I lost consciousness and died in a dirty room on the first floor”- these words from the other world make me numb with fear. Do you know what is the worst thing? That this male voice sounded from the mouth of an 11-year-old girl.
Terrible events took place in the second half of the 70s of the last century in London's Anfield area. The phenomenon is called the Enfield Poltergeist. The public was shocked by what was happening.
Dozens of people witnessed the poltergeist. It was getting colder in the rooms, things moved randomly in the air, making unthinkable zigzags, inscriptions appeared on the walls, and matchboxes caught fire. Of course, there were also skeptics who argued that this was a trick.
Poltergeist. Start
In the summer of 1977, the Hodgson family: mother and her children Johnny, Janet, Billy and Margaret moved into a new home. On the evening of August 30, the mother put the children to bed. Janet complained to her mother that a strange sound was heard near her brother's bed. Mrs. Hodgson ignored her daughter's words. On the evening of August 31, there was a crash upstairs, where the children's bedrooms were. The frightened mother ran to Janet's room, from where, as she decided, the noise was coming.
Entering her daughter's room, Miss Hodgson froze with shock. The heavy wooden chest of drawers moved on the floor by itself. The woman tried to push the chest of drawers back into the corner, but it didn't work. The impression was that someone very strong was moving him towards the door.
Janet later said that when the chest of drawers moved, she heard the shuffling of feet. And her younger sister Margaret recalled that she heard terrible sounds in the house.

That night, the woman decided to ask her neighbor Vic Nottingham for help. It seemed that such a hefty guy could not scare anything. However, entering a neighbor's house, Vic heard the same sounds, which, as he later said, were heard from everywhere. The police, which Mrs Hodgson called that same night, did not help them either. The perplexed policemen said they were not involved in such cases.
One of the photos shows how the poltergeist lifted the girl and threw her with such force that she flew to the other side of the room. Graham Morris, the author of the photographs, said that real chaos reigned in the Hodgson family's house: guests of the house screamed with fear, things moved through the air and terrible voices were heard everywhere.
Damn house?
The case became interested in the Society for Psychical Research, which for 60 years has been studying human abilities, namely the paranormal.
Guy Playfair and Maurice Grosse, specialists of the society, became frequent guests in this house. After a while, based on those events, they published the book "This house is possessed."
Grosse wrote in the book that when he got into the house, he immediately realized that this was not a trick. He noted the feeling of anxiety and uneasiness in which the whole family was. The author personally saw objects moving around the house. Grosse also noted that the items were hot.
The poltergeist did not hesitate in front of new people in the house. He continued to arrange a real orgy. One day, the researchers heard Billy scream. The boy shouted that someone had grabbed his leg. Adult men, in the literal sense of the word, saved the boy from invisible power.
For two years, researchers worked in the Hodgson home and recorded all the events. Later it turned out that during this time there were about 2 thousand cases of poltergeist manifestations.
It is worth noting that the poltergeist activity was directed not only at the Hodgson family, but at everyone in the house. 11-year-old Janet got the most. Sometimes the girl plunged into a state of deep trance, it was a terrible sight. In a trance state, the girl spoke in a rough male voice. It was difficult to understand what she was saying, only some of the phrases were clear: "I was tortured … Help me … I went blind …" Nevertheless, Janet had her own opinion, she believed that the power that rages in the house is not evil. The poltergeist simply cannot find peace and dreams of becoming a member of the Hodgson family. He expressed his desire through Janet, less often through Margaret.
Why did the poltergeist choose Janet? Later it turned out that before all these events, the girl often played with the Ouija board.
Nowadays
Today Janet is doing well, she lives with her Essex family. Her mother, brother and two sisters died within ten years, some in a dream, and some from illness.
Now Janet says that all the events of those years are real, it was not an attempt to earn fame and money. She did not earn any money, on the contrary, a considerable amount was spent on treatment in a psychiatric hospital. The woman claims that poltergeist cannot be provoked. After all, an innocent game with the Ouija board led to dire consequences.
