“I was sitting, resting, when suddenly I was seized by a feeling of anxiety, some kind of inner anxiety, expectation of something terrible,” said the photographer Sergei Konechnykh. - To calm down, I poured coffee and went out onto the balcony
That evening, July 10 at 23 hours 45 minutes, Sergei, his family and neighbors saw two UFOs in the sky over Ulan-Ude.
The famous photographer, chairman of the Union of Photographers Sergei Konechnykh said:
- Our windows face the Uda river. There are no buildings in front of our house on Klyuchevskaya, and therefore the sky and the horizon were absolutely clear. And here they appeared, two bright orange balls, just appeared out of nothing. The balls did not move, as if hovering low enough above the horizon, then flew over the city. They patrolled completely silently, began to approach and disperse. I could not believe my eyes, although I was struck by the reality of what was happening! Thought maybe an optical illusion? I called my son, he immediately said: "This is something extraordinary, dad, run for the camera!"
While I was running after the apparatus, my son continued to observe. The balls came close close, almost connected, and then, when I started shooting, they separated and began to move straight in parallel towards the Selenga. Then the balls stopped in the sky, somewhere in the area of the Vneshtorgbank building, which is opposite the tenth building of the VSSTU. Then they began to rise into the sky and suddenly disappeared into the night. There were no. And that's all …
For a long time I could not come to my senses and believe in what had happened. However, here they are, the pictures … (Sergey shows two bright points in the dark sky. - Author). UFOs were seen by other eyewitnesses from our home. Standing on the balcony, we heard exclamations of surprise from above: “Oh! Ay! Can not be! . It was something inexplicable. I am sure that these are not airplanes or satellites, it is simply impossible to photograph them with my lens.
Here is how Aleksey Tivanenko, a historian, ethnographer, writer, researcher of Lake Baikal, comments on this imperceptible event in the life of Ulan-Ude:
- UFOs over Baikal have been recorded for two centuries. There is a lot of evidence of this both in the newspapers of the 19th century and in the ancient legends of the Buryats. A convincing description is available in the "Irkutsk Chronicle" by NS. Romanov, 1884. From the words of numerous eyewitnesses, he described a huge luminous ball over Lake Baikal, with numerous windows. Since there were no planes, airships or meteorological probes at that time, this message gives a clear idea of the man-made nature of UFOs. Then the fall of the Tunguska meteorite took place, the origin of which has recently been increasingly spoken of as a catastrophe of an inhabited space object.

Residents of Lake Baikal, including myself, often observed UFOs over the lake and Buryatia. In the fall of 1965, a huge cigar-shaped and luminous body flew across Lake Baikal, leaving an inversion layer characteristic of jet aircraft, but no noise of the engines was heard. Judging by the clouds, this body could have been about 250 meters long. Approaching the Khamar-Daban ridge, the UFO released three small luminous balls (yellow, pink and blue) from the bottom, which scattered at the same speed in different directions. Many years later, I met a message about this UFO in the official bulletin of the UFO Study Commission, which was recorded over Ulan-Ude.
Residents of Buryatia remember the story when on one of the mountains near the village. Kudara-Somon descended an inhabited apparatus, from which emerged humanoid creatures dressed in luminous spacesuits. Local residents, including a local policeman, went on a motorcycle to the UFO landing site, but when they approached, the object flew away towards Mongolia. Such objects are encountered quite often, our scientists should have paid closer and more serious attention to this phenomenon.
