More than 150 students from Russian and foreign technical universities have worked on the project of an interplanetary station-island, which would study the atmosphere of one of the gas giants, according to the television studio "Roscosmos". The video "Flying Islands on Neptune" is available on YouTube.
“This is one of the few places in the solar system where, for example, such an important parameter as gravity is close to that of the earth. That is, it may turn out that for some reason humanity will have to leave the Earth someday, then live normally and, in particular, develop, children will only succeed in these places,”says Vladimir Igritsky, associate professor of the Launch Missile Systems Department. Moscow State Technical University named after Nikolai Bauman.
In the comments to the video, one of the users asks why not a single Soviet and Russian apparatus has gone beyond the asteroid belt, to which another replies that “the USSR had difficulties with electronics”. The third user asked Roscosmos to complete the multifunctional laboratory module "Science" and the apparatus "Luna-Glob", or "just talk about how the work is going, about the creation of new industries and new people." “But about the colonization of Mars and flights somewhere there is enough. Emphasize more on what is actually being done and on the progress of work,”he wrote.
There are four gas giants in the solar system - Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. These planets lack a solid surface (analogous to the earth's crust). In the upper atmosphere at the equator, the acceleration of gravity on Neptune is about 1.1 times that of Earth.
