On January 1, 1995, an automobile convoy accompanied by armored vehicles set off in the direction of Grozny. Ahead - four T-70 tanks, behind them six armored personnel carriers, then a column of two dozen vehicles, and three infantry fighting vehicles closed the column. In one of the T-70s, the driver was Konstantin. I still do not understand how he was taken into the army, and even more so for the war. He had no parents, he was raised by his grandmother. According to the law, being the only breadwinner, he was not supposed to be taken into the army. Kostya was only three months away from demobilization. The day before the attack on Grozny Kostya, a telegram came in which it was reported that his grandmother had died. This telegram came through the battalion commander, the guy had to be urgently sent to his native Tver. However, there is a rule that soldiers who go on guard or escort receive such messages only after completing the task, so that the fighter is calm. Our column slowly pulled along the mountain serpentine, less than ten kilometers remained to Grozny. Snow and mud mixed up, there was a mess on the road. Explosions were suddenly distributed.
