One of the topics often discussed in blogs by the most advanced public on the network is the so-called Mandela effect, named after a politician from South Africa, whom at least half of the people on the planet who heard about him thought he was tortured in dungeons sometime in 1980. -x. The term appeared sometime in 2010, after which people from time to time find other similar effects.
For example, the latest example revealed the other day is the famous Star Trek TV series, where one fan bought a five-season collectible DVD many years ago. After watching his favorite show to the holes and playing every season at least 5 times, the man put the disks in a box and threw them somewhere in the attic with all the rest of the junk, because life forced him to do his studies, work and other things.
And so, once talking at work with one of his colleagues, the person found out that the colleague is also a big fan of “Star Trek” and also watched the discs with all three seasons to the holes. Then the guy began to laugh at his colleague, because every fan knows that there were five seasons. In response, the outraged colleague went to the Internet, opened the series' website and poked his interlocutor with his nose at a page where it was written in black and white: Star Trek has only three seasons.
Since you can forget something in 15 years, the situation seems to be normal - well, you never know, the person beguiled. But the problem was that the man was a fan of the show, he watched it many times. Therefore, deciding that his roof went off, the guy went to his old house, climbed into the attic, found a box with children's toys and a coveted box with five discs. And there were three seasons! Moreover, there were two more discs in the box, which were empty. The guy was so stunned that he posted the topic even on the forum, where people are now actively figuring out which of them is out of their mind.
And we willingly believe this person, because we ourselves have come across something similar. For example, one of our editorial staff members, somewhere in the early 1990s, personally read in some ancient sports magazine that the famous American bodybuilder Sean Rae died, who actually lives and lives. What kind of magazine was there, where did they get the information from - after thirty years it is impossible to verify. But the fact remains.
And it would be okay among the “glitches of the Matrix” was only the Mandela effect, but these absurdities appear at every step. In particular, many people who have been living in one place for decades confidently declare that the sun began to rise and set NOT THERE!
