Experts cannot yet determine exactly what was flying in the sky in the north of the region. Olga Tokareva, a 45-year-old resident of the village of Yashkino, became a witness of an unusual space phenomenon.
- On Monday at about 9.20 am I stood at the station, met the bus, - recalls Olga, who works as a projectionist at the local House of Culture. - Suddenly a strange, fast flying luminous object appeared in the sky. I only had time to get my camera and take a couple of shots. The first turned out to be successful, and the second has already captured the empty sky.
According to Olga Tokareva, there was no sound accompanying the celestial phenomenon.
- Seeing a UFO, I was not scared, I just thought that I needed to photograph, - the amateur photographer smiles. - Some say that this is the harbinger of the end of the world, but I do not believe in it. I heard that an asteroid should fly by near our planet these days, and I thought of it.
As it turned out, even experts cannot say for sure what kind of object it is.
“We cannot comment on this picture,” said Svetlana Fedorova, deputy director of the Novokuznetsk planetarium for science. - If the asteroid actually fell, then you know what the resonance would be! At the moment, there are only Geminids meteor showers, but this is not like them.
The version that this is a rocket stage, disconnected when the satellite was launched into orbit, was ruled out by Roscosmos.
- The Federal Space Agency at this time did not conduct any launches, - explained the press service of the department.

But the famous Kemerovo astronomer, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences Kuzma Matsukov suggests that the celestial object photographed by a resident of Yashkina could be a space stone that got into the atmosphere and gradually burns out.
“Such meteors are called fireballs,” the scientist said. - They have a pronounced head and an elongated tail. If he did not manage to burn up and fell to Earth, then it is a meteorite.
