A family of six, living in the four-room 13th apartment, said that for 30 years their life had been absolutely calm. Their multi-storey house is located in the center of Zhitomir, there are many similar high-rises nearby, good relations with neighbors.
Since the fall of 2013, strange, frightening and inexplicable things began to happen in the apartment, which do not stop to this day. Pensioner Yuri Plyusnin, who is now 67 years old, said that at first a large three-door wardrobe fell in the bedroom, but by a lucky chance he did not crush anyone.
The legs of the cabinet were replaced, deciding that the reason for the fall lay in them, but after a few days the heavy cabinet, put in place, was again on the floor. After that, in one of the bedrooms, a mezzanine fell from the closet. She was put in place, but towards evening she fell again by itself. The next mystery was the fall of the closet in the hallway, and the residents of the apartment realized that everything that was happening was a poltergeist.
One of the rooms is occupied by pensioners Yuri Plyusnin and his wife Elena, their daughter and her husband, the third by their 14-year-old son, and the fourth is Yuri's 92-year-old paralyzed mother-in-law. At first, they thought that the falling of furniture was a child's pranks, but after observations everyone came to the conclusion that the teenager had nothing to do with it.
After the furniture fell, spontaneous combustion began in the apartment. The fire appears instantly, for no reason, and most often from 8 to 10 am and from 11 pm to 1 am. During the day, according to Yuri Plyusnin, there are about three dozen fires. It happens that things turn out to be completely unusable after such a thing.
So, an armchair, a sofa and other furniture turned out to be damaged and not subject to repair, they were thrown away. Often, clothes begin to burn on the household, so containers with water are literally in all corners of the apartment.
Family members are on duty in the apartment day and night, sleeping only for a few hours. Nobody leaves the apartment unattended. Yuri Polyusnin turned to specialists for advice, for example, Professor Alexander Tkachenko from the Department of Physics at Zhytomyr State University named after Franko, said that the energy that acts on objects in the apartment and affects their fire seems to come from a paralyzed mother-in-law.
He advised putting screens next to it, which would restrain the propagation of electromagnetic waves and, therefore, energy. The fall of the wardrobes and the fire in the apartment, he said, should stop.
