A fire broke out in the city of Tokmak, Zaporozhye region. The legless invalid who became hostage to the fire was saved. Neighbors claim that the story is more than mystical - a few days before the fire, the man's mother died. According to them, it was she who saved her son from death.

53-year-old Sergei Samoilenko lived with his mother Lyubov Andreevna on Stepnaya Street. All his life the man worked as an adjuster at the local enterprise "Selkhoztekhnika". But over the years, atherosclerosis of the legs more and more made itself felt. Three years ago, doctors had to amputate both of his legs. Since then Sergey has been disabled.

Disabled person without a wheelchair

“Over the years, Seryozha has never learned to use the wheelchair,” said the disabled's sister Larisa Ovcharenko, who lives with her daughter on a nearby street. - It's not so easy. All his life he was perky and cheerful, and then suddenly he was left without legs. And it takes time to get used to your condition and learn how to drive a wheelchair."

Neighbors say only good things about the Samoylenko family

“Non-drinkers, quiet, calm. They worked all their lives, - says neighbor Alexander Oleinik. - I feel sorry for Sergei - it so happened that he became disabled. And Lyubov Andreevna was respected here by everyone - she was a hard-working old woman. Even in retirement I did not sit idly by - all the time she looked after Serezha and fumbled in the yard."

Incorrect heating

On November 27, 2013 Lyubov Samoylenko died. The next day, the woman was shown her last journey.

“There was a funeral, and the door was constantly open,” says Larisa Ovcharenko. - My brother caught a cold, started coughing the next day. I brought him lunch, and when I left, I added a little fire to keep the house warmer.

As rescuers later found out, the cause of the fire was improper operation of the furnace equipment. The wallpaper under the carpet could not stand the heat and began to blaze. Within half an hour, the whole house was engulfed in flames.

“I scrambled out of bed and started crawling to the phone. The first thing I did was to call my friend and neighbor Gennady. I was so confused that I could not even remember the number of the Ministry of Emergency Situations,”admitted Sergei.

Saved by the whole world

At the cry of a friend, Gennady rushed along with his neighbors. But it was not easy to take the disabled person out of the burning house - the man weighs about 100 kilograms. The neighbors were at first confused, but then they remembered that a rescuer lived nearby.

“I was just resting after my shift. I rushed to the rescue right in my home clothes, "Evgeny Ivchenko, a neighbor, and also the commander of the 14th fire and rescue unit of Tokmak city, told Vzglyad." We have been living here with my wife for only three years. I personally did not know Sergey We talked more with his late mother. But I knew that there was a disabled person in the house. While I was running, I dialed "101".

However, while the rescuer ran to the scene, Sergey had already been pulled out of the house.

“He was undressed,” said the lifeguard. - I ordered to take a blanket to make it easier to move, and we took it to a neighboring house, in the warmth. While the rescuers were driving, I managed to cut off the gas so that it would not explode. Then they turned off the power to the house. These procedures are performed by rescuers in each such situation so as not to risk it. Therefore, I slightly helped the guys who arrived in time."

Otherworldly salvation

They managed to put out the house in an hour. It turned out that all three rooms were practically burned out.

“The next day, my neighbors and I went to inspect the house,” Ivchenko says. - We noticed that everything was burnt and soot. But a portrait of Lyubov Andreevna, completely untouched by fire, has been preserved in the sideboard. Some kind of mysticism.

Sergei's sister does not believe in mysticism.

“Probably because the portrait under glass didn’t have time to burn,” says the woman. - Who knows. In the section of the sideboard where the portrait hung, Sergei's documents were also kept. They didn't suffer either."

The neighbors are sure that this is a sign. Thus, the deceased mother saved the life of her disabled son.

“Judge for yourself - Sergei was able to reach the phone, and his friend was at home, although it was a working day, and the lifeguard was at home, and everything ended well,” says neighbor Galina. - Yes, and the portrait survived. They blame everything on glass - but the rescuers who extinguished the fire themselves said that the glass would have burst at that temperature. Not otherwise, as Lyubov Andreevna from heaven contributed to this - she was a kind woman, she really pitied and loved her son."
