Experts from the Pew Research Center conducted a study, according to the results of which they found out that by 2035 Muslim mothers will have more children than Christian women. According to the simulated data, there will be about 225 million Muslim newborns and 224 million newborn Christians. Reported by The Independent.
The specialists also noted that from 2055 to 2060 the gap could become even more significant - it will reach a difference of 6 million newborns. Scientists also suggest that due to the increase in the birth rate in Arab countries, the number of atheists may decrease.
But, despite all the forecasts, experts are still confident that there will be more Christians than Muslims.
So, from 2010 to 2015, 31 percent of all newborns in the world were Muslim. It is reported that the birth rate among Christians is not falling, but it is not developing as rapidly compared to the followers of the Prophet.
The Independent also reports that Christians are currently one third of the world's more than 7 billion people, followed by Muslims. Another 16 percent are atheists.
