The spot that "spattered" the Earth with flashes in early September is returning
The sunspot, it is also the active region AR 2673 - the region on the luminary's disk, which recently became the source of several powerful flares - the strongest X-ray class, appeared again.
Evolution and return of the AR 2673 spot.
The spot, having spat on the Earth, on September 6, 7 and 10, 2017, disappeared beyond the edge of the solar disk - after all, the star rotates, making one complete revolution in about 27 days.
Scientists expected that the active region would “dissolve”. But he did not "dissolve". And now it's targeting us again.
In the Laboratory of X-ray Astronomy of the Sun of the Physical Institute named after P. N. Lebedev of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FIAN) pondered: if the active region AR 2673 returns to the Earth's field of view, “and the ongoing burst of activity continues or, moreover, will drag on until the end of the year, then we will have to admit that the Sun has had a rather serious deviation from 11 -year cycle, the possible consequences of which still have to be understood."
The active area returns - one prediction of physicists came true. And if this spot continues, like last time, to emit powerful flares, then another prediction will come true. And scientists really have to figure out the consequences. Thinking about what is happening to our luminary.
The returned spot is clearly visible in the photograph of the Sun's photosphere.

The stain, designated 2682, is not really “ resolved ” spot 2673 is the one that did not allow us to live in peace at the beginning of September.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict the development of the situation. The spot that survived the turn of the Sun may not blaze anymore. Or maybe blaze. We'll see. I would not like to be afraid of magnetic storms and radiation strikes again.
