When Robert Oppenheimer, one of the founders of American nuclear weapons, was asked if an attempt was made to detonate an atomic device for the first time in history, he replied, "Yes, at the present time." What did the genius physicist mean? He was probably referring to the prehistoric nuclear wars that he explored by reading the original Hindu epics.
Nuclear weapons in antiquity? At first glance, this seems absurd, but there is no reason to assume that this deadly weapon has not been used before. The descriptions of its use are not groundless. They are even found in the Bible. Some suggest that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by nuclear attack or by God's wrath? However, most traces of such nuclear conflicts in the past can be found in India.
In 1922, on one of the islands of the Indus River in Pakistan, archaeologists discovered the ruins of an ancient city under the sand. The place is called Mohendo Daro, which means “Hill of the Dead” in the local language. Excavations show that people died there in a very short period of time and that they were exposed to high temperatures.
Mohenjo Daro actually ceased to exist at one point. We don't know what happened, but it was pretty cruel. The skeletons of thirteen adults and one child were found in one of the houses. These people were killed while eating. Others died while walking the streets. Their deaths were very cruel and in some ways reminiscent of the event that took place in Pompeii.
In the ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata it was written that the cause of this terrible tragedy was a powerful explosion after the blinding radiance of "light without smoke." The tremendous amount of heat caused the surrounding water to boil, and "the fish looked like it had been burned." So what could have happened in Mohendo Daro?

The Mohendo Daro case, and especially the scale of the destruction of the ancient metropolis, is very similar to what we saw in Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the atomic bombs. But that is not all.
Just 16 km west of the now-millionth city of Jodhpur in India, there is a place that can prove that nuclear weapons were actually used in ancient times. This is an area of about 5 square kilometers, where the radiation is still so strong that life there is very dangerous.
The people living in the area still suffer from numerous cancers and their children from congenital malformations. When the top layer of the earth was collected in this place, it turned out that there was radioactive ash of unknown origin under it. Hindu scholars who tried to find out the reasons for this state of affairs found that there are remains of an ancient city here. The radiation levels there are so high that the Indian government ordered the area to be cordoned off.
One of the more daring hypotheses was that the site was destroyed by a nuclear explosion. In this case, there are many similarities with what happened to Mohendo-daro. Something destroyed most of the buildings in one moment and instantly killed all people. One of the researchers believes that it was a nuclear bomb of the same size as the one dropped by the American army in 1945 on Japan.
In Oldohind's epic about Mahabharata, one can find a poetic description of a catastrophic explosion, which could have been the explosion of a nuclear bomb.
Hindu epics are full of descriptions that can be interpreted as nuclear explosions. This is not obvious just because they were written in allegorical language in order to somehow convey knowledge of these events, suggesting that the transmitters may not know what technology is in question.
In Hindu temples, prayers for deliverance from the great light that could destroy cities were engraved on the walls. This was difficult to imagine until nuclear technology emerged.
The presence of dangerous radioactive zones for our time is evidenced by the ancient Indian scriptures about battles with the use of nuclear weapons. According to some theories, the Rama empire, now India, was destroyed by nuclear war.
During excavations in Pakistani Harappi and the aforementioned Mohendo Daro, skeletons were found in the streets. Many of the skeletons are in a condition that could be a sign of sudden death. People were not even buried, but found themselves deep under the streets of the city. What could be the reason for this situation?
Is it really incomprehensible why their bodies were not pulled out by wild animals? Moreover, there are no visible signs of the violent death of these people. The skeletons there are also considered to be some of the most radioactive ever found in India and Pakistan. At some point, scientists discovered a skeleton whose radioactivity level was 50 times higher than normal.
