According to ancient Sumerian texts, 8 immortal kings ruled the Earth for 241,200 years. More than a dozen copies of the list of Sumerian kings have been unearthed by archaeologists in regions such as Babylon, Susa and Assyria.
They are believed to be copies of an original manuscript written during the third dynasty of Ur, although some historians believe it may have been created even earlier.

However, some have suggested that the text may not be a myth at all. The fact that kings descended from heaven to earth has led some scientists to speculate that they might come from another world.
This, in turn, could mean that their incredibly long reign may be justified, since it is possible that aliens may live much longer than we do. Who knows, they might even be immortal.
Until now, no coherent theory has been built that could explain why the Sumerians presented in this text both historical rulers and mythical monarchs, often living for more than 30,000 years, but who knows, as the researchers say, it was allegorical?
