This is a significant leap forward, this is no longer a hope for the unknown: on November 10 in Vienna, Professor Alexei Samsonovich spoke about how artificial intelligence has developed until today in Vienna in front of an audience consisting of scientists, researchers and journalists from all over the world, at the MEPhI panel discussion. one of the main Russian universities, occupying a leading position in the world with its five institutes, where development is carried out in the field of cyberintelligence, nanotechnology, biomedicine, laser and plasma, and mainly in the field of nuclear research.

Founded in 1942, and including several Nobel Prize winners, including the laser developer Basov, MEPhI, which stands for Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, has become a national Russian center for nuclear research since 2008. All tasks are global, from anti-asteroid missions (when an asteroid 1 km in size collided with the Earth, a world catastrophe would occur, 100 meters in size, and an asteroid 10 km in size would destroy the entire biosphere) to proton therapy to cure cancer by accelerating protons, as in the European nuclear research center, only at a lower cost and in extremely limited spaces.

Nanoelectronics: Here we are back on the roadmap for artificial superintelligence. Professor Vladimir Labunov presents the evolution of the chip, from the "silicon" era to the still unexplored spaces of consciousness. Suffice it to say that the distinctive feature of the first chip was a single transistor, and the current chips are capable of accommodating up to 7 billion transistors. “In the decade 2020–2030,” Labounov predicts, “the microcircuits built into the chip will have the same capabilities as the human brain. The first step will be just the introduction of artificial intelligence into existing chips to use in the future all the possibilities of two-dimensional materials, starting with graphene, in order to obtain chips of such performance in any area of use."

Returning to the main content of the Vienna MEPhI conference "Education and Research in the Field of Development and Security", it was mainly about the nuclear industry and all its possible uses - from energy sources (according to MEPhI estimates, modern plants can withstand even cyberattacks, which will can, as a maximum, lead to their shutdown) to terrorist threats, where it is proposed to work hard on methods for detecting radioactive materials of a different nature. There were also sarcastic comments about those who said "No to nuclear weapons", as in Australia, which, as representatives of the Russian state agency Rosatom recall, "has become one of the leading exporters of isotopes and uranium in the world."
