Tons of paper are written about the famous Roswell Incident in 1948. However, not everyone knows that the wreck of the alien ship at about the same time also took place near the city of Aztec. Frank Sully's book "Behind the Flying Saucers", published in 1961, claims that in 1947-1948 in the United States in the state of New Mexico there was a crash of four aircraft of unknown origin, thirty-four bodies of aliens were examined by the military in the laboratories of the Ministry of Defense … The results of their research have not yet been published.
Sally is a well-known American ufologist who is trusted by her colleagues. According to Sally, in March 1948, one of the UFOs fell in Hart Canyon near the small town of Aztecs.
The Aztec is located 290 km northwest of Albuquerque and 480 km southwest of Danver. Surrounded by Indian reservations, Navajo and Apache, the city is located in the heart of the Indian country. The landscapes here are very beautiful. The Mesa Mountains rise above lush river valleys, the snowy peaks of Mount San Juan shine to the north, and the barren lands of the Bisti Desert stretch to the south. On the territory of the Aztek there is an archaeological site - the ruins of an Indian settlement dating back to the XII century.
According to Sally, sixteen charred corpses of small, human-like creatures were found at the crash site in Hart Canyon. The wreckage of the aircraft and the corpses of humanoids were transported to a military base in Detroit, Ohio. Frank learned about the events in the Aztec from two eyewitnesses. One, a local resident, saw a silvery metal object in the shape of a large saucer or plate fall into the canyon. Another, an employee of a geological firm, was looking for minerals in the vicinity of the city. He was armed with a magnetometer, which suddenly went off scale. The geologist realized the reason for this when he saw the wreckage of the fallen alien ship and their bodies. He saw dead humanoids! According to him, the height of the aliens did not exceed 90 cm. Sally writes in her book that the geologist even showed him a fragment of the silvery skin of the aircraft.which he picked up in the canyon. However, Frank Sally's informant was not at the scene of the tragedy for long.
Military trucks arrived there, an officer in an Air Force uniform wrote down everything the geologist could tell and gave him a nondisclosure document to sign information of national importance. Then the geologist was forcibly taken to the city.
At one time, this information, which the public learned about from the bestseller "Behind the flying saucers", caused a sensation. However, there were also skeptics who did not believe that an alien ship had crashed near the Aztec.
In 1974, confirmation of the UFO crash in Hart Canyon appeared. Ufologist, Professor John Spencer Carr has published information that he learned from a retired Defense Department officer, as usual, who wished to remain anonymous. This person will report that he was involved in the transport of humanoid bodies from the Aztec to Ohio. According to his descriptions, the aircraft were round in diameter with a convex central part. Each "plate" contained three humanoids. They were dressed in silvery clothes of a very unusual texture. Although the bodies of the aliens were charred, the "plates" had no visible damage. The former officer also said that the military learned about the airspace invasion and crash of the UFO thanks to radars that were in the state of New Mexico. An hour after the tragedy, representatives of the Ministry of Defense arrived in the canyon. Therefore, it is likely that so little information about this incident was leaked to the press.
In 1987, researcher William Steinman's book "The UFO Wreck in the Aztec" was published, which provides additional evidence that the incident did take place.

Every year in March, in the city of the wreck, the bike ride "Alien Extravaganza" takes place. Racers go to the mountains in a picturesque area. Anyone can take part in the race. However, sometimes famous cyclists participate in a sporting event.
In addition, since 1989, the Aztec has hosted an annual ufological conference, which attracts interested people from the United States and other countries.
