A group of academics have predicted until 2030 how advances in artificial intelligence (AI) could impact the life of a typical North American city in areas such as transportation, healthcare and education. The challenge for the researchers was how to ensure the safe, fair and beneficial development of these rapidly developing technologies.
Stanford University said: “We believe that specialized AI will become more prevalent and useful by 2030. It will significantly improve our economy and quality of life. However, technology will create serious problems that can affect the number of jobs, so such issues need to be addressed now.”
Scientists held a session where they tried to assess the technological, economic and political implications of the potential application of AI in socio-ethical terms. “Artificial intelligence technologies can be reliable even for the general population. In the future, we will get so used to them that mistrust and unreasonable fear will disappear,”the experts are sure.
