In the state of Michigan (USA) there have already been several deaths from mosquito bites. Fox News, in particular, reports that in just 9 days a local resident, 64-year-old Gregg McChesney, passed away.

His brother, a farmer, said that Gregg helped him with minor repairs, was healthy and cheerful, and after being bitten by a mosquito he had a seizure. The man was taken to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him - after 9 days McChesney died.

It turned out that the reason is in the virus of eastern equine encephalitis, which is carried by mosquitoes. It affects not only people, but also animals. In some cases, death is also possible.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is calling on residents to protect themselves from mosquitoes on Facebook, as the state has already recorded several cases of human infection with the virus, of which two have been fatal.

At the same time, local journalists write that the death was in three cases.

It is noted that this virus is quite rare, and it poses the greatest danger to children under 15 and people over 50.

People infected with it develop sudden fever, chills, joint pain, headaches, which in particularly severe cases eventually lead to brain inflammation, paralysis, coma, or death.
