A group of scientists from the Russian Geographical Society visited the Sadoi-Lam mountain in the Cheberloevsky district of the Chechen Republic, where a local enthusiast allegedly found Noah's Ark.
“On the surface, these are so-called“synclinal folds”with horizontally lying layers of sandy limestones,” the geologist and speleologist Gennady Samokhin, who heads the expedition of the Crimean branch of the “Russian Geographical Society”, told KP about his observations. - In other words, it is a multi-layer limestone formed in the marine environment, on the bottom of the Tethys Ocean, which existed millions of years ago in the North Caucasus. But what is inside is really difficult to judge.

According to the scientist, the resident of Chechnya, Marat Makazho, who found Noah's Ark, does not in any way resemble the local madman who composed a beautiful legend to glorify his native land. Therefore, experts have taken up a thorough study of education.
- We took samples of the "Ark" rocks with us. Now we have transferred them to the laboratory for chemical analysis, which will help determine the composition and age of the stone. It's too early to talk about the results, but I do not exclude that among the fossil samples taken, we can find a tree. Having visited the place, having seen all this, I cannot completely rule out the possibility that this is indeed Noah's Ark. This is professional ethics. But I will only be able to believe that it is really him when I see irrefutable evidence. According to the geologist, Crimean scientists have already sent their colleagues in Chechnya an offer of cooperation. If necessary, they are ready to help with the analysis of the internal structure of an amazing object found on a mountain plateau.

How many times has the Ark been found?
Attempts to find the Ark have been made since about the 4th century AD. According to the biblical legend, the ship should be located on one of the slopes of Mount Ararat. Here is the most popular place among seekers, the so-called "Ararat anomaly" - the outlines of a ship on the northwestern slope. However, it is possible to see them only from the air - from the ground the place is not even close to the skeleton buried under the layers of rock. However, after the revolution, the photographs disappeared without a trace. Later, other pilots, in particular the Turk Durupinar in 1957, filmed a strange contour from the air. The picture of Durupinar even got into the Life magazine and became the reason for the next expeditions, each of which announced the discovery of the Ark, and each was unsubstantiated.
2. In 1955, French explorer Fernand Navarra found a new ship skeleton on a different slope and even brought a fragment of a board. Some studies have named the tree as 5,000 years old, but these findings were highly subjective. After that, the "Lzhekovchegi" were found many times on the mountain and in its vicinity.

3. The third of the most famous was the attempt to find the relic during the joint Turkish-Hong Kong expedition in 2010. After studying the slopes, experts made a statement that Noah's Ark was found frozen into a glacier at an altitude of 4000 meters.
