The last person on the planet died, who, perhaps, still remembered what the air was like in the eighties of the last century.
Antisa Khvichava, who claimed to be 132 years old, died in the Georgian village of Sachino in her 47th year of retirement. If she really was that old, then she should be considered the record holder among centenarians.
Alas, although the birth certificate and passport indicate that Khvichava was born on July 8, 1880, these are not originals, but copies. The originals have long been lost, so it is impossible to recognize her as the oldest person on earth.
At the same time, science has no right to say that it is impossible to live that much, because the maximum life span has not been established. According to the Gerontology Research Group, the oldest person at the time of registration of such information, who died in 1798, was 103 years old, and the Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment, who left this world in 1997, is already 122.

What have these people done to themselves? Nothing special. Researchers from the Medical College. Albert Einstein University of Yeshiva (USA) showed last year that among people over 95 years old, bad habits (smoking, drinking alcohol, poor diet, lack of exercise) occur with about the same frequency as among the general population. In other words, genes are at the heart of longevity. And, of course, luck, thanks to which no one has killed a person for so many years.
Of course, this does not mean that we should abandon healthy lifestyles and accept the doctrine of genetic fatalism. It is only about the fact that people like Khvichava (by the way, they say, she never passed a day without a drink) have extremely rare genetic protection against bad habits.

Therefore, everyone else who is not ready to play roulette with fate is left with a moderate and healthy lifestyle. For example, it is noticed that in the USA the Seventh-day Adventists exchange the second century with enviable regularity. Gary Fraser of Loma Linda University and his colleagues have shown that vegetarianism, smoking cessation and frequent nut consumption are prevalent among adherents of this religion.
Well, for superstitious readers, we will throw this fact. The oldest inhabitant of the planet at the moment is officially recognized as American Bessie Cooper from Georgia (Georgia, Georgia, capiche?). She was born on August 26, 1896. She is 116 years old.
