Experts believe that the huge amount of debris that has accumulated in Earth's orbit could lead to a world war. Vitaly Adushkin, an employee of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told about this.
According to a scientist who is studying this problem with his colleagues, space debris is fraught with serious danger. Potentially, it could seriously damage military satellites and lead to a new world war.
As the expert notes, it is extremely difficult to understand the reason for the sudden breakdown of the satellite. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to establish whether the cause of the technical malfunction lies in a collision with space debris or is the result of sabotage. As a result, any signal from a space object about an accident or an unknown attack threatens to escalate tension in the world and even fraught with the beginning of a large-scale military conflict.
To date, the number of abandoned objects in Earth's orbit reaches about 20 thousand units. Basically, these are out-of-order satellites, their debris and destroyed missiles.
