American photographers managed to capture the mysterious light appearing in the southwest of Missouri. Locals call this mysterious phenomenon "Devil's Promenade".
Photographers Lara Shipley and Antone Dolezal, who learned about the existence of the anomaly called the "Devil's Walk", went to Missouri to capture the mysterious phenomenon.
Local residents informed them that a ghostly light appears on the E50 road, located south of the city of Joplin. The photographers arrived at the indicated place and began to wait for darkness.
“We felt that the frequent occurrences of the witch's light disturbed people, and we had a desire to dispel the dormant fear of darkness,” Shipley and Dolezal explain.
Soon, they actually noticed a bright light pouring from under the treetops. After taking a picture of the anomaly, the photographers asked local residents about the possible reasons for its appearance. However, people said that the appearance of luminous balls, changing their color, still remains a mystery to everyone.
Joplin residents reported that even researchers from the US Army Corps of Engineers fought to solve the ghostly light, but did not come to any conclusions.

So the Americans can only be content with legends that somehow explain what is happening. According to one of the Indian legends, the wandering lights are the spirits of two lovers who threw themselves from a cliff from an angry leader. Another legend tells of a headless Indian with a torch, who cannot find his head in any way. True, some residents prefer a modified version with a headless miner or confederate soldier.
“Despite the tales of this light, it really exists and looks pretty creepy - these are floating balls that can move at incredible speed and change color from blue to red or gold,” says local resident Mary Roundtree.
Scientists and fans of the paranormal also shared their guesses: the former believe that the anomaly is shale natural gas, the latter see signs of UFOs in the ghostly light.
