This is reported by the newspaper "Novorossiysk Rabochy". A reader of the publication, Alexandra Denisenko, told the editorial office that there are strange structures made of stones at the bottom of the reservoir

The girl was riding in the area of the lake on her ATV when she noticed white boulders laid out in the form of graves among the bottom mud. Between them, according to Alexandra, there were also stone paths.

The head of the archeology department of the Novorossiysk Museum-Reserve, Alexander Shishlov, determined that the burials date back to approximately the 13th century. They were buried in stone coffin boxes from the beginning of the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages. The settlement itself, apparently, was located somewhere above the modern lake, in the mountains.

It turned out that almost the entire bottom of the shallow water reservoir is covered with burial stones.

“There are about 30-40 mounds here,” Shishlov continues. - Now they are on the verge of destruction. They are constantly being washed away, robbers are digging in some graves.

A fragment of an earthen urn was found at the bottom. It is likely that the ashes of a burnt deceased person were stored in it. To start excavations at the bottom of the Neberdzhaevsky reservoir, archaeological work must be ordered by a water utility that supplies water from the lake to residents of Novorossiysk.
