Scientists from the University of Hawaii expressed the opinion that the pink shade, beloved by women, is nothing more than a "brain game", since such a color does not exist in nature. In fact, what we call pink is “negative green,” the scientists said.
According to scientists, color is a complex image that is the result of the work of the brain and vision: when people look at an object they perceive as pink, they actually see what is obtained as a result of the reflection of various mixed waves of light. "The color pink exists only in the human imagination," experts are convinced.
They said that the waves of light in the pink spectrum do not exist - this shade is in essence a reflection of the range of other colors. Pink appears to be this color because certain wavelengths of light are reflected while others are absorbed - it becomes the end product of the brain, which converts all these refractions of light.
Scientists noted that it would be more correct to call pink "negative green" based on the natural color palette.
“Pink is not part of the light spectrum. It is a complementary spectral color and must be mixed in order to obtain it. If you take red paint and add white, you get pink. Technically, you cannot form pink from the colors of the rainbow, but you can mix other colors to get pink,”the researchers explained the brain’s bizarre work of color perception.
