An unusual invasion of ladybirds is observed in the coastal area south of Mariupol - from Urzuf to Melekino and Belosaraiskaya Spit. Seemingly harmless insects annoy local residents and visitors, filling yards, markets and beaches. Commoners whisper about a natural anomaly, while experts talk about natural processes.
Old residents of Urzuf swear that none of the previous holiday seasons has presented such a surprise. As Galina Gredina, who came to the sea with her little son, said, the number of spotted bugs in Urzuf is incredibly large - you come across them everywhere. “If one or two ladybugs evoke positive emotions, then these hordes simply interfere with life,” she says. - As if insects have gone crazy! You have to constantly fight them off."
Vacationers should not worry about their health. “These insects are not dangerous for humans, because, thank God, they are not noticed in the epidemiological process. Therefore, SES does not follow them. Mosquitoes, ticks and other blood-sucking animals are a completely different matter, the chief sanitary doctor of Mariupol, Georgy Gusakov, assured, Gazeta Po-Donetskki reports.
According to experts, the sharply increased population of aphids is to blame for everything. Her ladybugs eat with great pleasure, while saving farmland from destruction. This version was confirmed by the villagers of Urzuf, who say that the invasion of cows was preceded by a powerful attack of pests. True, it remains unclear why all the same spotted insects occupied the coast.
The chairman of the ecological and cultural center "Bakhmat" Vladimir Berezin believes that, most likely, the situation has arisen because of the warm winter and rainy spring. Climatic fluctuations have created unique conditions for the growth of the aphid population and the subsequent appearance of a huge number of "ladybirds". “But they are not scary for people,” he summed up. - And for field crops - a real boon.
