“The growing number of people getting tattoos is gradually changing the stigma, so that more original body modifications are increasingly accepted by society,” tattoo artist Adam Villani told Bustle. "We are at a point where even ear tunnels are generally accepted by society, which was unthinkable twenty years ago." Below are five bodily modifications that are becoming more and more popular, but so far they can shock the uninitiated.
Scarification
Carification, better known as scarification, is somewhat similar to a regular tattoo, but still has a much more frightening look. Although it exists, historians believe, longer than tattoo art. Despite the fact that the operation seems simple, it is important to keep in mind that there are two large arteries in the tongue, damage to which can threaten at least profuse bleeding, and at most, death. That is why a split, if you decide to do it, must be done by a professional.

A novelty in the field of bodily modification, which, according to the masters, has become especially popular in the wake of superhero films. The essence of the modification is that magnetic implants are sutured under the skin (usually in the fingertips), allowing a person to feel like one of the X-Men. But this is done, however, not only in order to surprise others. Those who have already tried such implants "in practice" admit that all this also changes feelings a little. “In some people with magnetic implants implanted under their skin, the ability to sense electromagnetic fields is added to normal touch. They describe it as mild itching, tingling, hesitation and even slight movement,”writes Wired.

Despite the fact that the ubiquity of tattoos has made them less extravagant than even a decade ago, some are still considered quite provocative. For example, face tattoos.
