The idea of cryonically preserving the human body is by no means new. We've seen this in numerous sci-fi films, however, the question is whether it is actually possible to freeze a human being and then bring it back to life after a number of years.
The new project is dedicated to just this task, so a giant cryonics storage center will soon appear in a small Texas town called Comfort.
This "time machine", already called the "Mecca of cryogenics", will be able to accommodate 50 thousand frozen human bodies. The structure, created by architect Stephen Valentine, will also be protected from natural disasters and will be able to withstand any catastrophe, from a terrorist attack to a change in sea level.
"DNA, tissue samples and the cryo-preserved patients themselves will be placed in a 'time machine', and their safety and security from any threats, both natural and man-made, will be observed for hundreds of years," according to the website of the cryogenic center "Timeship ".
The center building will be surrounded by high walls and a spacious plot of land. In addition to dedicated storage buildings, the complex will include research laboratories, libraries and even an agricultural center. They say that in order to avoid emergencies, it will even build its own source of electricity.
Along with frozen human bodies, the cryogenic camp will also store biological materials, human organs, samples of cells and tissues, as well as the DNA of endangered species.
According to the website of the Timeship complex, the project aims at nothing more and nothing less than how to get people into the future, as the name of the cryogenic town suggests. It is claimed that it will exist and function for more than one century.
