People lived here and rivers flowed. But the climate began to change. This is evidenced by the historical finds of marine sediments off the coast of West Africa.
On the collected sedimentary rocks, wax formations were found. By its chemical composition, scientists were able to track the processes of climatic changes in atmospheric precipitation over the past two tens of thousands of years. According to research results, it became known that the intensity of rainfall in the Sahara was 10 times higher than today.
The climate has changed due to a global cooling in the northern latitudes, called the Mesocco wobble. And all living things began to leave the territory of the future desert.
