Sociologists have found that in the 21st century, middle-class people are more likely to have compassion and support for the disadvantaged than the wealthy.
However, this interaction is most pronounced when communicating with low-income neighbors. Researchers have shown that with frequent personal contact between neighbors, friendly relations are established in 80–90 percent of cases, and people who are more wealthy, financially stable and arranged in life tend to help those who are less fortunate. Having examined 65 neighborhoods and more than 3,000 households, scientists have proven that the more kind and helpful neighbors live around, the better the disadvantaged and poor cope with aggression, anger and financial instability.
