In northwestern Canada, there is a wide valley of dark fame. Until the beginning of the 20th century, this desert area had no name at all. She was awarded her eerie name only in 1908, after the skeletons of gold miners who disappeared here three years earlier were found decapitated.
In 1897, an incredibly large-scale mining of precious metal was carried out in the famous Klondike. The gold rush was in full swing and had already clouded the greedy minds with a veil of wealth. A year later, it ended, and lovers of easy and quick money had to look for new "golden places". It was then that six daredevils went to the valley located along the South Nahanni River, which even the local Indians avoided.
But the gold prospectors did not believe in prophecy and superstition. But in vain. They were never seen alive again. This was the first officially reported disappearance of people in the area.
The Canadian police card file contains a lot of data about the numerous victims of the valley: since it got its unattractive name, people have regularly disappeared here, and then their bodies were found decapitated.

An unusual fact is that most of the victims were gold diggers, strong and experienced men who could easily stand up for themselves.
There was an assumption that a gang of robber-thugs is operating in the Valley of the Headless, or the locals are thus protecting their gold. The Indians argued that people were killed by a local monster - sasquatch.
Sasquatch is usually called a humanoid creature that lives in the highlands or forest regions of the Earth. Depending on cultures and times, he bore many names: yeti, sasquatch, bigfoot, enzhey, avdoshka, almast.
In 1978, a scientific expedition headed by the scientist Henk Mortimer went to the valley. It is worth noting that all six researchers had not only the latest equipment for those times, but also weapons.
Having reached the place, the scientists reported that they had set up camp and intended to go deep into the valley. In the late afternoon, another call rang. The operator heard a frightened cry: “Emptiness comes out of the rock! This is awful …”, after which the connection was interrupted.
The rescuers did not keep themselves waiting long, and after half an hour their helicopter arrived at the site of the expeditionary parking lot, but they could not find any people or traces of the camp. The headless body of one of the researchers was found only six days after the tragedy.
Six researchers, a bell at six in the evening, six days … The number of the beast. The area quickly became notorious, but the mystical disappearances of people did not stop … In 1997, another group of scientists, which included anomaly specialists and the military, went to the ominous valley. The group also disappeared. The last thing they managed to tell was: "A thick fog surrounds us" …
What's happening in the Valley of the Headless?
There are still no official versions of what is happening in the Valley of the Headless, but there are several assumptions.
The local population believes that Bigfoot (etty), or, as the Indians call him, sasquatch, is in charge here. Allegedly, there is written evidence that it was at the time when gold miners appeared in the valley that a strange creature was noticed there, similar to a huge man overgrown with wool. And the hunters have seen his tracks many times.
As you know, Canada has had the largest number of meetings with sasquatch. In 1973 alone, there were about 50 cases. One could take this for fantasy, but all eyewitnesses tell the same thing about him. The creature smells foul, is huge and weighs about 300 kilograms.
Of interest is the evidence of a group of climbers who visited the Headless Valley in 2000. According to them, they saw Bigfoot twice. A certain creature, covered with black hair, moved on two disproportionately short legs.
Since this meeting took place during the day, people noticed that there was no wool on the yeti's face, it was completely human. But it was not possible to photograph him, because everyone was shocked with horror, and Bigfoot ran pretty quickly.
The mystery of the deadly valley has not yet been revealed, but despite this, curious tourists continue to visit these gloomy lands.
