Fears and phobias

Don't believe me? There is even a technical term to describe the fear of phobias. Yes it is! Phobophobia is described as a fear of phobias, and more precisely, internal sensations associated with phobias, fears and anxiety. These fears can cause both mild discomfort and complete daze, negatively impacting every area of your life, as well as preventing you from functioning properly.

Recently, a survey was conducted across America in which scientists tried to find out what causes fear deep in the hearts of Americans. Participants were asked to indicate their own level of fear in relation to 80 different things that cause phobias, from politics to natural disasters. The researchers obtained a large amount of information, after careful analysis of which they were able to compile a list of the most common fears in the United States. And on this list, you will find very interesting answers, such as corrupt government officials, drinking water pollution, high medical bills, and air pollution.

Hypnosis as a means of dealing with fears

One area of fear management that scientists have high hopes for is hypnosis. To understand how hypnosis can help, you first need to fully understand how phobias work mentally. At some point in your life (most often in childhood, although this can happen in adulthood), something causes your brain to create an association between two unrelated things, the object of your fear and feelings that are associated with fear responses. In some cases, this association is created as a result of traumatic events, for example, if you were bitten by a dog when you were a child, you may be afraid of dogs throughout your life. In other cases, the trigger may not be easy to define. You may not even know why you are afraid of something, you just know that you are afraid of it.

How it works?

Hypnosis works by reprogramming how your mind reacts to certain triggers. If dogs are currently associated with feelings of fear and anxiety, the hypnotherapist will try to relax your mind, desensitize your brain to that particular event or object, and then reprogram the response. It's worth noting that this is not a quick fix. The procedure, which is known as “systematic desensitization,” is a gradual reprogramming that slowly gives you control over your trigger responses and also encourages positive responses.

If you put in the effort, devote yourself completely to it, and also seek the help of a good hypnotherapist, you can free yourself from your biggest fears.
