The owner of a pub in British Hampshire plans to use the services of an exorcist. An unusual ghost has settled in her brasserie, who refills visitors with a foamy drink
Janice McCormack believes her unusual spirit draws customers to her by supplying them with extra beer. “Everything happens when a visitor goes to the toilet or is simply distracted from his glass. When he returns to drinking, he finds that there is more beer in the glass. Obviously it comes from my stocks,”she says.
The regulars of the establishment nicknamed the phantom "Bartender Reedy" - in honor of the English actor Oliver Reid, a great drinker. Janice McCormack, who works in the pub with her husband, reports that Reedy began his antics about nine months ago.
“I love my regular clients, but what is happening is not cheap. People started drinking fewer pints as their glasses were constantly full. We have more visitors, but it seems they all come in search of cheap endless beer,”the hostess complains.
Now the owner of the restaurant wants to hold a seance, during which she plans to ask the poltergeist to stop his antics. One of the pub's regulars, 27-year-old John Sanders, says: “I will miss old Reedy. After all, he constantly supplies me with excellent beer. Of course, it's sad, but since the restaurant loses money, it will have to go elsewhere."
And Janice McCormack, whose Victorian school was a girls' school, complains, “I wish the ghost would leave me alone. He literally drives me crazy."
