Scientists from Holland, Germany and the UK have explained why morning larks are not suitable for flights to Mars. According to experts, the circadian rhythm of such people gets lost, which has a bad effect on health.

A team of scientists from Holland, Germany and the British University of Manchester during the experiments found that people who have a habit of getting up early are not suitable for flights to Mars, where the day lasts 37 minutes longer than the earth's day. The fact is that the circadian rhythm of any creature corresponds to the rate of change of the time of day on Earth, and on the Red Planet and on the way to it, the “internal clock” of a person gets lost, which can negatively affect health and the ability to reproduce.

As noted by experts, “owls” - people with slow “internal clocks” feel best during space travel. In order to confirm this theory, the researchers sent several rodents off the planet and observed how their population changed. In the course of the experiments, it turned out that the number of animals that woke up earlier than everyone else decreased with each new generation. At the same time, the "owls" felt great and multiplied at the same rate as on Earth.
